On a sunny, September day at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), we received an e-mail from our faculty listing projects from all over the world as part of our Global Entrepreneurship Lab course. We knew we would be working remotely from Boston for a number of months before spending January 2016 in-situ at our host company, so we profoundly analyzed our options before deciding what project we wanted the most. Sucorinvest, a financial firm based out of Jakarta, was our first pick, and we were fortunate enough to be matched to work with such firm from October 2015 to January 2016.
Over the last quarter of 2015, we immersed ourselves in a deep research around Indonesia and its financial market. We arrived to Jakarta on early January 2016, ready to spend several weeks in the great Republic of Indonesia for the first time.
Sucorinvest is a rising star on Indonesia’s financial industry. The leadership team is comprised by a set of well-educated and hard-working individuals willing to innovate though the use of technology. A brilliant pool of middle managers and a world-class workforce combined with a collaborative culture supports Sucorinvest’s most important value proposition: an excellent customer service.
We now leave Indonesia not only with the satisfaction of having learned about Indonesia’s capital markets, but also with the honor of having explored different areas of such amazing country. The vibrant pace of Jakarta, the beautiful temples of Yogyakarta and the amazing nature of Bali are memories that will accompany us for the rest of our lives. But more importantly, the spirit of such amazing nation and the kindness of its people are, vast and large, our main take away after this life-changing experience.
Thank you Sucorinvest and Terima kasih Indonesia!
